Today, we stop and think of those affected by the senseless violence that occurred in Club Q, Colorado Springs over the weekend when a safe space for the LGBTQI+ community became the ground for an act of terror.

Our thoughts are with the victims, survivors, their families, friends and the wider LGBTQI+ community in Colorado.

There is no place for hate.

We are conscious that the current rise in aggression towards the LGBTQI+ community here in Ireland, or around the world can cause LGBTQI+ people to feel anxious or afraid. We would encourage anyone affected to reach out to our National LGBT Helpline, available 7 days a week with trained volunteers ready to listen.

Call the National LGBT Helpline on freephone 1800 929 539.

Monday to Thursday: 6:30pm to 10:00pm

Fridays: 4:00pm to 10:00pm

Weekends: 4:00pm to 6:00pm
